2005 Bonneville Record AttemptIn 2005, John Fitch, Bob Sirna and the 1955 Mercedes Gullwing returned the expanse of the Bonneville Salt Flats for another try at the record they first attempted two years previously. The car had undergone many changes and tweaks for this year's record run and Fitch was as eager as ever. One new feature of the 2005 trip was the presence of documentary filmmaker Chris Szwedo.
